What looks better on wires, and never had them to begin with?

Wire wheels were on the outs in the late 60's for being hard to keep true and time consuming to make. Another thing requiring maintenance. Steels and hubcaps or alloys became the norm. So do any cars look better now on a set of wire wheels when they never had that option when new? (And no, BBS basketweaves don't count!)

The p1800 in the pic above on a set of Dayton wires looks very nice and could have used a set of them when new. I'm sure with a little more work, the p1800 could have been a fabulous car but they stopped short of making it a real performer. So What cars do you see now that you think would look better?

I do not think this looks better. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say....

That P1800 looks amazing on wires.

I never thought I'd say that.

Also:

Like it or not, the wires solidify the appeal to its original target demographic.

Someone needs to build a truck with a graphical equalizer in the grill.

You know...I'm not sure. yeah it's garish and well.....Take a second look. Itisn't too bad from this distance. Not my style but honestly it is tasteful in a way.

Not to mention the performance benefits

Yeah I always thought of an 1800 as a very poor man's wanna be maserati/ferrari style of a car. On wires like they had theirs, it starts coming together. Perhaps a bit lower and more raucous sounding pep of an engine and it would have been quite nice. Personally I'd lke one with a good inline-5 and ITB's.....or an I6 if it would fit.

That T-bird is definitely owned by an attention getter. However you are right. Those wires do work for that style.

You know what....people will buy that and do it while blasting their big bass tones on a night cruise.

Holy hell there's your million bucks right now! Honestly the engineering would be simple and it's just going to radio shack for the parts. and resisters and wires. Go do it!
